Vancouver 2010

As others braved the crowds at the malls on Christmas Eve, we braved the crowds at Victoria Park as the Olympic Torch made it's way through Ontario ending up in London for the holiday! It was quite the party and so exciting to be a very small part of history in the making.

We were all a little teary as Jesse's dad carried the torch into the park. Jesse was a young man with Muscular Dystrophy whose dad pushed him across Ontario in 1995 (I think) to raise money and awareness of MD. Jesse passed away in November and his dad was honoured to run the torch into London in memory of his son. It was touching. Not many dry eyes in the crowd.

We may not brave the crowds in Vancouver in 2010 - but are thrilled to say that we had the opportunity to see the torch live and in person as it travelled across the country!
