A Tall Tale Of Times Gone By

Tonight I tell a tale of times gone by.

Of young Knight Arthur the Fierce - a brave lad, fond of horses, arrows and fair princesses.

Of Court Jester Isabella - a jester in training whose spunk and knack for perfectly times jokes make her one of the kings favorite jesters.

And of Princess Geneveive the Strong - whose beauty is second only to her strength and who took on the challenge of roasting the birds for this fine feast.

Twas a menu fit for a king and queen. Bread and cheese. Poached pears. Roasted chicken. Peas and Carrots cooked in beef broth and parsley. Almond milk. Wine (cranberry juice!). All served without utensils and with a "trencher" (stale bread) for a plate.

The court jester performed a juggling trick or two whilst telling jokes and doing cartwheels.

Knight Arthur braved the dragons and saved the princess.

We all ate pie and were full.

And all this marks the end of a unit on Medieval Times and brings us one day closer to finishing the school year off.
