In Canada we celebrated the first of many summer long weekends, Victoria Day. It's kind of a weird thing to eat birthday cake and drink lemonade in celebration of a Queen (Victoria) who's long been dead. But, it's a Canadian thing - and when in Rome ...
This year we went old school in our celebration.
Real old school.
They even sang some old British National Anthem. Hmm.... not sure about that one.
Followed the old-timey party with a canoe trip with my dear friend Leah.
And ended the day with smores.
I'm definitely not going to complain about a holiday in honor of a dead queen.
It certainly was a day fit for a queen.
